Safety

THROUGH PROACTIVE LEADERSHIP, CONTINUOUS TRAINING, AND ACCOUNTABILITY, TITAN MECHANICAL HAS BUILT A SAFETY CULTURE WHERE EVERYONE GOES HOME SAFE, EVERY DAY.

Since our founding, an unwavering commitment to safety has remained at the forefront of everything we do. Safety is integrated into every phase of our work, from pre-job planning through project completion. We prioritize hazard identification, risk reduction, and accountability at all levels of the organization. Safety is treated as a core value, not a checklist item.

Our goal is simple and non-negotiable: everyone goes home safe, every day.

Titan Mechanical maintains a dedicated Safety Director to oversee safety program development and execution. Safety expectations are clearly defined and reinforced by management and field supervision. Supervisors are responsible for planning work safely and enforcing site safety requirements, supported by active management involvement and continuous oversight.

Safety performance is a shared responsibility across the entire organization, and strong safety culture supports higher quality work and better project outcomes.

WHAT TITAN’S HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS MEAN TO YOU

For our customers, Titan’s commitment to safety translates directly into reliable mechanical systems and dependable project execution. Our safety culture is built on mutual respect, communication, and accountability.

Every employee is expected to take personal responsibility for working safely. Team members are encouraged to speak up and report unsafe conditions without fear of retaliation. Employees are empowered to stop work when unsafe conditions are identified, ensuring potential hazards are addressed before they impact people or project quality.

TITAN’S SAFETY PERFORMANCE AND COMMITMENT

Titan Mechanical maintains consistently strong safety performance well below the industry average:

  • 2023 EMR: 0.47 (145,251 hours)
  • 2024 EMR: 0.47 (172,575 hours)
  • 2025 EMR: 0.50 (199,713 hours)
  • 10-year average EMR: 0.474

These metrics reflect our proactive approach to identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards. Safety performance is treated as a shared responsibility across the entire organization.

Safety training is conducted regularly through certifications, ongoing programs, and job-specific refreshers:

  • Field employees maintain OSHA 10-Hour training, with supervisory personnel completing OSHA 30-Hour training
  • New employees receive safety orientation prior to entering the field
  • Ongoing safety meetings and refresher training reinforce safe work practices
  • Job-specific training is provided based on assigned tasks and jobsite conditions
  • Core training includes lift safety, forklift operation, confined space awareness, and hazard recognition

PROACTIVE SAFETY PLANNING

Safe work begins with proactive job planning and hazard identification. Work methods are evaluated to reduce exposure and improve efficiency.

Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) are used to identify task-specific hazards and controls for each phase of work. Daily field planning addresses changing site conditions and evolving risks as projects progress. Safety requirements are coordinated with general contractors and other trades to ensure alignment on site rules, emergency procedures, and shared working areas.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT AND LEARNING

Safety performance is monitored and reviewed to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Near-misses, hazards, and incidents are addressed as opportunities for learning. When issues arise, we investigate root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

Safety programs are reviewed and updated to reflect best practices and regulatory changes, ensuring our protocols remain current and effective.
